Philippians 4

Think of Excellence

1 Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters,
Lit and longed for
whom I blong to see, my joy and crown, cstand firm in the Lord in this way, my beloved.

2 I urge Euodia and I urge Syntyche to
Or be of the same mind
,
elive in harmony in the Lord.
3Indeed, true
Lit yokefellow
companion, I ask you also, help these women who have shared my struggle in the cause of the gospel, together with Clement as well as the rest of my gfellow workers, whose hnames are in the book of life.

4 iRejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! 5Let your gentle spirit be known to all people. jThe Lord is
Or at hand
near.
6 lDo not
I.e., have anxiety
be anxious about anything, but in everything by nprayer and pleading with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
7And othe peace of God, which surpasses all
Lit mind
comprehension, will qguard your hearts and rminds in sChrist Jesus.

8 Finally, brothers and sisters, twhatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is
Or lovable and gracious
lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
9As for the things you have learned and received and heard and seen vin me, practice these things, and wthe God of peace will be with you.

God’s Provisions

10 But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at last xyou have revived your concern for me; indeed, you were concerned before, but you lacked an opportunity to act. 11Not that I speak
Lit according to
from need, for I have learned to be
Or self-sufficient
,
aacontent in whatever circumstances I am.
12I know how to get along with little, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going abhungry, both of having abundance and acsuffering need. 13I can do all things
Lit in
through Him who aestrengthens me.
14Nevertheless, you have done well to afshare with me in my difficulty.

15 You yourselves also know, Philippians, that at the
Lit beginning of
,
ahfirst preaching of the gospel, after I left aiMacedonia, no church ajshared with me in the matter of giving and receiving except you alone;
16for even in akThessalonica you sent a gift more than once for my needs. 17 alNot that I seek the gift itself, but I seek the
Lit fruit
profit which increases to your account.
18But I have received everything in full and have an abundance; I am
Lit made full
amply supplied, having received from aoEpaphroditus
Lit the things from you
what you have sent,
Lit an odor of fragrance
,
ara fragrant aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God.
19And asmy God will supply
Or every need of yours
all your needs according to His auriches in glory in Christ Jesus.
20Now to avour God and Father awbe the glory
Lit to the ages of the ages
forever and ever. Amen.

21 Greet every
Or holy one; i.e., God’s people
saint in Christ Jesus. azThe brothers who are with me greet you.
22 baAll the
